Gold Safety

AI and photographs cannot confirm gold authenticity. Professional testing at an approved jewellery partner is required.

Hallmarks and purity

UK hallmarks indicate fineness and assay office. Check marks with a magnifier and compare against the seller description. Market valuation does not prove authenticity. Professional testing is required for a Gold Value Checked result.

Weight and professional testing

Weigh items on calibrated scales at an approved jewellery partner. Acid or XRF testing may be appropriate for high-value pieces. For high-value gold, meet at an approved jewellery shop where the item can be weighed and professionally tested.

Safe collection and payment

Do not carry large amounts of cash. Complete professional inspection first and use a traceable payment method where appropriate.

Pay the marketplace reservation first. Complete inspection before paying the remaining balance to the seller and sharing your collection code.

Private vs business sellers

Consumer rights differ when buying from a business seller. This is general UK information — exceptions may apply.

Returns, disputes and reporting

Use the Help Centre and support cases for mediation. Report suspected counterfeit, stolen items or unsafe meetings through the product page. For crime in progress call 999.
